When The Child Was One

When the child was a child,
Traveler of the lifted sight.
Manner bold like danger wild,
Cast of God, blank shadow bright.

Taken, holding, gentle grasp,
Climb exploring, burgle look.
Reaching, helpless handful clasp,
Laughter builded, anger took.

Teaching love in needing trust.
Tangent seeking, singly vast.
Howl of raining; days of dust,
End of contract, grown too fast.
